Kellie and Jeremy made the tricky decision to postpone their wedding from November 2021 to March 2022 due to COVID restrictions. It had become too difficult to get family together due to constantly fluctuating COVID-19 restrictions.
Just when we thought things were looking up for social events, the weather took a turn for the worse in March, when a rain bomb was dropped on Brisbane. The east coast of Australia was hit by extreme flooding following multiple rounds of heavy rain. By the end of the first week in March, we had received more than a year's worth of rainfall in a week! Thousands were forced to flee their homes as the intense and relentless rain continued, breaking riverbanks, swamping roads and ruining businesses and essential infrastructure. Thousands of megalitres of water spilled from the Enoggera Dam, just below Walkabout Creek, where they were to hold their wedding.
Thankfully, by the time Kellie and Jeremy’s wedding came around, the water had receded and the sun was shining. Walkabout Creek looked heavenly in the soft golden light of the afternoon. With such a lead up to their new wedding date, guest numbers had exploded, and their wedding turned into a long overdue celebration and reunion for their dearest family and friends.
It was a beautifully heartfelt ceremony lead by the genuinely personable Brad Richards from Celebrade. Kellie and Jeremy were flanked by their four children in a ceremony that officially unified two families and a whole lot of love.
Guests relaxed on the balcony with refreshments (and a lolly cart for the kids) while we explored the rainforest and captured photos of the family of four during the golden hour.
