- Pre-session planning (location, outfits, 'get to know you' questionnaire), so on the day you can simply relax and enjoy yourselves.
- A fun-filled natural light session in the late afternoon to ensure a backdrop of soft golden light and flattering portraits of your family.
- Professional and experienced family photographer of 15 years (and Mum of two) Joanna, who will build rapport with your family, regardless of age or personality AND will direct you confidently with my secret ingredient — prompts (not posing!) so you'll never feel awkward or uncomfortable.
- An online gallery of photos active for 10 days to choose your favourites and share with others.
- A selected number of high resolution (high-res) digital photographs to print yourself, anywhere, at any size or quantity.
- Option to purchase more photos or the ENTIRE SET of photos from your gallery AFTER you have seen your photos. Absolutely no pressure though!

Extended family sessions require more than just turning up. I guide you through location, timing, group combinations, and outfits in advance, so everything runs smoothly on the day — even with larger family groups.

What size digital files do I receive as part of your packages?
You will receive the highest quality possible from my camera, which means you can print at any size!
Can I order prints and other products?
If you don't have the time to DIY printing you are welcome to order prints through my online lab.
You'll find The Print Store inside your online photo gallery contains a curated selection of prints and bespoke products to display your photos inside your home. Follow the instructions to purchase prints that will be delivered to your door.
Can I purchase all the photos in my gallery?
Yes you can! Simply select "All Photos Download (High Resolution)" inside the Print Store and add to your Shopping Cart or send me an email with your request.
How long does a family shoot take?
I offer two different portrait packages with sessions lasting from 1 to 2 hours. Please choose a time for your session that best suits your family or extended group, allowing for time to warm up and relax.
What areas do you service?
Most areas within Brisbane (including your own property) are included in your shoot package.
Redcliffe, Ipswich, Logan or Redland Bay is $150 for return travel (which includes up to 2 hours total travel, petrol and car wear and tear) and $200 for return travel to Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast or Toowoomba (which includes up to 4 hours total travel, petrol and car wear and tear).
If you haven't decided on shoot location yet, we can add this later.
If you are further away than this, please contact me and we can talk about your requirements.
Do you work on public holidays?
Occasionally I accept Extended Family Photo shoot bookings if your group is only available on a public holiday. Public holiday sessions attract a $150 surcharge and should be added as an 'extra' at time of booking.
What do we wear?

What lighting do you use?
I use the beauty of natural light, unless we are shooting indoors. I prefer to shoot in the late afternoon as the light is soft and produces the most flattering photos.
What happens if there is bad weather on the day of the shoot?
If there are poor weather conditions on the day of your shoot, such as rain, storm or strong winds, we will need to reschedule. I will call you at least 3 hours before the session to confirm if the session will go ahead or not. Feel free to check in with me throughout the day of your session.
How long after the session do I receive my photos?
It normally takes around 2 weeks to prepare your images and upload your photo gallery, depending on the package you have chosen.
This time is spent editing and crafting your photos – cropping, rotating, removing distracting items, fixing distortion or perspective, correcting colour tone or unavoidable colour casts, adjusting contrast, colour balance, saturation, shadows & highlights in every individual photo, then sharpening for the viewing size.
Where do you take photos?
The location of your session is completely your choice and I work with you to find a location that will reflect both you and the style of photos you want. I have my favourite spots in and around Brisbane, from beaches or forest to urban locations. I am also happy to come to your family home or your local reserve. If you have a specific location in mind, please let me know. I love to explore our beautiful land, so if you’d like to venture further away I can usually accommodate your request for a small travel cost.
How do I log into my gallery?
Use the link to your online gallery that I emailed to you. Enter your email address to register for your gallery and access your photos.
You'll need to use the same email address to be able to view the photos you marked as 'favourites'.
How long is my gallery active?
Your gallery is active for 10 days (or 30 days for an Extended family photo shoot). Please select your favourite photos and order prints or extra digital files prior to the expiry date.
Can my photos be retouched?
Yes, this is an option for $25/photo (or a discounted rate if ordering 10+ photos at once). You can send specific retouching or cosmetic retouching requests to me by email. Turnaround is usually 3-5 working days.
However, I don't charge for simple retouching tasks, like removing a pimple or scratch from one or two photos. Please call or email to discuss and I'll take a look.
Retouching includes:
~ cropping and/or slightly rotating individual images for best subject impact,
~ removing or blending distracting background elements,
~ lightening or removing eye bags and blemishes (e.g. pimples, insect bites, scars, wrinkles, uneven skin tone or pigmentation, veins, freckles, bruises),
~ body contouring (e.g. re-shaping arms, legs, waist, breasts, stomach, neck, nose, chin, forehead etc. where possible),
~ thickening or extending hairlines,
~ removing lint from dark clothing,
~ minor alteration to colour or shape of clothing,
~ brightening eyes, and
~ whitening teeth.
Can I buy wall prints?
Yes. The Print Store inside your online photo gallery contains a curated selection of prints and bespoke products to display your photos inside your home. Follow the instructions to purchase prints that will be delivered to your door.
What happens if my child or a family member is sick on the day of the shoot?
These things happen! If possible, please give me as much notice as possible prior to your session as it’s very hard for me to fill your spot with another family at short notice. Occasionally I may have hired special equipment for your session and I still have to pay for these unless I can give adequate notice of cancellation.

How do I choose my photos?
Inside the online gallery you can select and mark your favourites for me to see. You can also share your gallery with family and friends.
Your digital files will be checked and prepared for print and a link to download the high resolution files emailed to you.
Can I share my photos with family and friends?
Absolutely! Your photos will be uploaded to a private online gallery and I will email you the link. You can share this link with your family and friends. Your online gallery will be available online to view for a period of 10 days (or 30 days for an Extended family photo shoot).
Can you come to my home and help me with displaying my photos?
Yes! Enquire about an in-home design appointment.
How do I know when you are offering MINI SHOOTS?
Go to the SPECIALS page (via the top navigation menu) and sign up to my VIP list, so that you are the first to hear about exclusive offers and seasonal Min Shoots before they are released to the public.
Do you offer free modelling shoots?
Yes, occasionally I offer FREE digital files in return for modelling time when I want to refresh my portfolio or have a creative idea I'd like to try.
