Newborn

Newborn photography

Having a baby is the most precious and fleeting time in your life. For me, the newborn stage was such a blur, especially with my first. It's something you can never prepare yourself for — the most exhilarating and exhausting few weeks!

That's why my aim is to make your bub's newborn shoot as simple and stress-free as possible. I offer both in-home and studio shoots, depending on how you are feeling after the birth. If you are feeling fabulous, you might like to consider an outdoor shoot. I can recommend the most beautiful locations to photograph your new family.

My style is a mix of lifestyle poses, a few sleeping shots of bub (if asleep during our shoot) and detailed shots (little fingers, toes, lips, eyelashes etc.). My main intent is to capture your 'love bubble' and the important connection between you, your partner, siblings (if any) and baby. Do you have a fur baby? They are part of the family too, so let's capture their wonderment with this strange new arrival!

In-home newborn lifestyle shoots

I come to your home and bring everything we need to capture absolutely stunning images. An in-home shoot is comfortable for Mum and bub to be in their own familiar space, with quick access to privacy for feeds and a change of clothes, refreshments etc. I can assist you with outfits from your closet when I get there, if you need. If your home is dark inside, I can bring portable lighting that looks just like window light.

Studio newborn shoots

If you are feeling up to it and you prefer a clean look, you may prefer my minimalist white studio in Ashgrove, Brisbane. The studio is fitted with a white bed and linen manchester. It's the perfect backdrop for classic newborn photos.

Outdoor newborn shoots

You may have a bub who finds the outdoors soothing — especially the movement of trees and ambient sounds. I highly recommend an outdoor shoot if you are feeling mobile enough. I can recommend many suitable locations within Brisbane and beyond. We can even just walk to your favourite park to capture this fleeting moment in time.
